Alexander kicks open the door on a galaxy that’s gotten too big—and too dangerous—to leave to chance. In 5028 (old Earth count), humanity scraps its old calendar and adopts U.C. (Universal Creation) after first contact proves one hard truth: we were never alone in the dark. Humanity is ushered into a wider Milky Way where new civilizations ignite, collide, and sometimes get crushed before they ever have a chance to become anything more than a cautionary tale, much like the stories of Billy Starbuck, the Ribbon Dancer, and other characters crafted by YA fantasy authors.
That’s why the Agency of Galactic Exploration exists: to explore, to witness, and—when necessary—to protect. It has three “hands”: Starforcers (enforcement), Starscribes (record-keepers), and the ones who walk straight into the unknown—Starcharters. This log follows one of the most unusual teams the Agency has: Alexander, an ancient mind inside a youthful nanotech body, and Amilya, his ship, his partner, and his wife—her consciousness fused to a living starship. They’re the frontier’s eyes and ears… in a universe where the line between “protection” and “tyranny” is only one vote wide.
Alexander Starcharter is one of the Agency of Galactic Exploration’s best. His mission is simple on paper: observe, protect. But in the Zeda Quadrant, they collide with something far uglier than pirates or anomalies: rogue operatives of the collective.
On Tarxia, “gods” have arrived—bringing healings, terror, and a new order written in light.
Alexander wants to do this clean. Quiet. By the book. Because if the Agency catches wind of what’s happening, the answer won’t be justice—it’ll be a reset button. And when his core—his nanotech heart —starts to destabilize, the clock stops being theoretical. It becomes personal.
What follows is a hard-charging sci-fi thriller of engineered gods, collapsing timelines, and impossible choices—where saving a civilization might mean defying the very Agency that sent him… and where surviving the mission may cost Alexander the one thing he can’t replace: his life.
